Wellapets Screenshot 2 Wellapets is a new educational virtual pet game for iOS and Android. Unlike any other virtual pets, Wellapets teaches and motivates the >2 million asthmatic kids ages 6-11 in the US to manage asthma. Wellapets also help kids cope with the stigma of having asthma by providing kids a fun, normalizing virtual companion.

Children can begin by adopting your own Wellapet – an adorable fire-breathing dragon who wants to blow fire but can’t unless its asthma is under control. The pesky smog monster from a nearby factory regularly bothers your Wellapet in its home; fortunately, fire scares the monster away. A superhero (Superwella) comes to your pet’s aid and offers the Wellapad – a digital task list through which the Superwella sends missions that guide your pet to health and strength.  By caring for your Wellapet and keeping its asthma under control, you teach the Wellapet to blow fire and, in turn, unlock collectibles and mini-games.

Caring for your Wellapet:

·      Complete the tasks in the Wellapad, like giving your pet its maintenance inhaler, to make your pet stronger and able to blow fire.

·      Play minigames to ace educational objectives, like dodging asthma triggers in our infinite runner, to gain experience and earn currency.

·      Decorate your pet’s room and feed your pet healthy foods to keep it happy.

·      Keep your pet’s house clean and free of asthma triggers.

Pediatrician-approved educational highlights:

·      Learn correct inhaler technique and timing

·      Learn to recognize asthma symptoms when you play doctor and triage other Wellapets according to an asthma action plan

·      Learn to avoid asthma triggers
